OSP Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely on a contract basis, the OSP Engineer will perform detailed outside plant facility engineering tasks, including estimating, designing, and planning for copper and fiber cables, while managing job budgets and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and interpret engineering plans, drawings, and reports for OSP design projects
• Conduct field data collection and maintain complex files and records for engineering tasks
• Interface with multiple groups to design network elements and ensure quality control on engineering work

Required qualifications

• Expert knowledge of COE/OSP principles and industry standards
• Experience managing other OSP Engineers and reviewing their projects
• Ability to identify existing voice/data plant and manage right of ways and easements
• Proficiency in using PC applications and computer-aided drafting systems
• Understanding of the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) for engineering requirements
