OSP Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely in the Pacific Standard Time zone, the contract OSP Engineer will perform detailed outside plant facility engineering tasks, including estimating, designing, and planning for copper and fiber cable installations while managing budgets and conducting quality control inspections.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare and interpret engineering plans, drawings, and reports for OSP projects
• Collect field data and organize permit packages for submission to relevant entities
• Interface with multiple groups to design and implement network elements for Fiber to the Home, Copper DSL, and other services

Required qualifications:

• Expert knowledge of COE/OSP principles and work order procedures
• Experience managing other OSP Engineers and reviewing their projects
• Ability to identify existing utilities on site plans and in the field
• Familiarity with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) engineering requirements
• Proficiency in using PC applications and computer-aided drafting systems
