Outbound Referral Scheduler

Job Summary

To support clinical referral processes, the full-time Outbound Referral Scheduler will manage appointment requests, verify insurance coverage, and ensure seamless patient access to specialty care while working remotely on a 4x10 schedule, including weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Complete appointment request processes through Epic, telephone, or faxed requests for care by clinicians
• Inform patients about their referral appointments, including date, time, location, and special instructions
• Ensure compliance with data entry protocols and achieve workload volume goals

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One year of customer service and/or patient experience
• Experience with Epic is preferred
• One year of experience in a medical office or healthcare access center is preferred
