Outpatient Auditor with CCS Certification

Job Summary

To support an acute care facility's compliance efforts, the full-time or part-time Outpatient Auditor with CCS Certification will conduct coding assessments and billing audit validations remotely, ensuring adherence to coding regulations and identifying documentation issues.

Key responsibilities

• Perform in-depth quality assurance audits of hospital claims to support coding assignments based on clinical documentation
• Audit patient records for coding compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
• Prepare detailed reports on audit findings and present them to healthcare professionals via webinar software

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of outpatient or inpatient auditing experience with an acute care facility
• At least two active coding credentials, such as CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CDIP, RHIT, or RHIA
• Extensive knowledge of medical terminology and coding regulations
• AA degree or equivalent preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel and Word
