Outpatient Clinical Documentation Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Outpatient Clinical Documentation Specialist.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct record reviews on outpatient medical records and accurately document the encounter
• Identify appropriate clinical documentation to support coding and medical necessity of ambulatory visits
• Provide education to internal customers on compliant documentation

Required Qualifications:

• Five years of healthcare physician/facility related experience in auditing
• Completion of an approved coding or health information technology program with current certification(s)
• Strong knowledge base in coding and coding guidelines
• High School diploma or GED
• Clinical Documentation certification required within 2 years of hire
