Outpatient Coder

Job Summary

To support optimal reimbursement and quality reporting, the full-time Outpatient Coder will be responsible for coding and abstracting diagnoses from medical records while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Assign ICD-10-CM codes for medical records, including diagnoses
• Abstract key data elements for billing and regulatory compliance
• Communicate with providers to clarify documentation for accurate coding

Required qualifications:

• RHIT, RHIA, CEDC, COC, CPC, CCS-P, or CCS credentials
• Three or more years of coding experience
• Thorough knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding systems
• Experience working in a remote environment
• Ability to maintain a 95% quality accuracy rate and meet productivity standards
