Outpatient Coder I - IL Licensed

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Outpatient Coder I.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assigns appropriate ICD-10-CM and/or CPT-4 codes to outpatient visit types based on thorough medical record reviews
• Utilizes critical thinking to identify issues and follow processes for incomplete coding
• Interprets health record documentation to report accurate diagnoses and procedures while adhering to coding standards

Required Qualifications:

• Credentialed by AHIMA or AAPC
• CE requirement of 20-30 CE's every two years to maintain credentialing
• Holds RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or COC credential
• 2 years of related work experience in an acute care setting
