Outpatient Coding Technical Advisor

Job Summary

Overseeing and advising on the integrity of ambulatory surgery coding programs, the full-time Outpatient Coding Technical Advisor will manage coding reviews, educate on billing regulations, and collaborate with various teams in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review and advise on the accuracy of ambulatory surgery coding and charging programs
• Conduct coding education and workflow training for outpatient coding, addressing claim edits and denials
• Assist in writing policies, coding system implementation, and participating in revenue cycle-wide projects

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management
• 3+ years of clinical coding experience within a healthcare setting
• In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
• Familiarity with coding guidelines and regulations, including HIPAA and HITECH Act
• Proficiency in coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems
