Job Summary
To support a short-term coding project focused on Emergency Department (ED) and Ancillary Services, experienced Outpatient Medical Coders will work remotely for a duration of 30 to 60 days, with options for full-time or part-time scheduling while reviewing and assigning ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for outpatient encounters.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and accurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for outpatient encounters
- Code Emergency Department (ED) accounts in accordance with official coding guidelines and facility-specific requirements
- Ensure coding accuracy, compliance, and appropriate reimbursement while meeting established productivity and quality standards
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of outpatient facility coding experience
- Significant experience coding Emergency Department (ED) accounts and Ancillary Services, including Laboratory and Radiology
- Proficient knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II, Official Coding Guidelines, and CMS regulations
- Hands-on experience with Cerner and 3M 360 Encompass
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
