Outpatient Profee Coder

Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare practice, the part-time Outpatient Profee Coder will utilize coding expertise to accurately abstract physician services from medical records, ensuring compliance with ICD-10 coding guidelines while working remotely for 20-30 hours each week.

Key responsibilities

• Review medical records to abstract physician services and assign appropriate ICD-10 CM codes with a minimum of 98% accuracy
• Provide documentation feedback to clients and maintain coding reference information
• Collaborate with operational areas to resolve claim issues and ensure compliance with billing and coding guidelines

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• AHIMA or AAPC Certification (CPC, CPC-M, CPMA, CEMC, or CCS-P) preferred
• 1+ years of experience in outpatient profee medical coding
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10 CM and ICD-10 coding
• Experience with Epic and proficiency in MS Office products
