Outpatient Surgery Coder

Job Summary

To support outpatient surgical services, the full-time Outpatient Surgery Coder will perform coding for surgical procedures remotely from 8 AM to 4:30 PM.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately code outpatient surgical procedures using appropriate coding systems
• Review and analyze medical records to ensure compliance with coding guidelines
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and coding discrepancies

Required qualifications

• Certification as a Professional Coder (CPC, CCS-P, or equivalent)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in outpatient surgery coding
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
• Familiarity with medical terminology and anatomy
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
