Job Summary

As a part-time independent contractor, the Palauan Licensed Interpreter will handle on-demand phone calls, facilitating communication between Palauan and English speakers across various industries while working remotely from home.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to interpreting sessions, ensuring clear and professional communication
• Render accurate interpretations while adhering to established protocols and maintaining cultural sensitivity
• Follow client instructions and maintain professionalism, especially during sensitive or high-stress situations

Required qualifications

• Fluency in Palauan and English, with a strong understanding of associated cultural dynamics
• Education or work experience in language-related fields such as teaching, translation, or interpretation preferred
• Excellent listening and retention skills to ensure high accuracy during interpretation
• Ability to remain neutral and objective, particularly in sensitive discussions
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
