Job Summary
Supporting the Bureau of Justice Assistance's Public Safety Officers' Benefits Program, the full-time remote Paralegal Specialist will review and analyze claims, track case data, and prepare documentation for educational assistance programs.
Key responsibilities
- Review and analyze supporting evidence for PSOB death and disability claims, identifying issues of fact and law
- Capture, track, and report PSOB data and metrics to senior leadership and the Contracting Officer's Representative
- Prepare and organize documentation for the Public Safety Officers' Educational Assistance Program while providing customer service to dependents of fallen/injured officers
Required qualifications
- Associates Degree or higher
- 5 years of benefits/claims-specific experience or 6+ years of paralegal-related experience
- U.S. citizenship meeting the DOJ Residency Requirement
- Ability to pass a Government security background investigation for a moderate risk public trust position
- A home office within the United States equipped with appropriate internet and telephone service
