Part-Time Media Relations Contractor
Job Summary
Supporting the Media & Advocacy team, the part-time Media Relations Contractor will conduct media monitoring, prepare coverage reports, and draft communication materials while working remotely for approximately 10-12 hours per week.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct daily and weekly media monitoring and clip tracking using Verra's media-monitoring tools
- Prepare coverage reports, sentiment summaries, and board-ready reporting materials
- Draft press releases and pitch materials for review, and support proactive journalist outreach
Required qualifications
- Experience in communications, media relations, public relations, journalism, or advocacy communications
- Familiarity with media monitoring tools, preferably Muck Rack or similar platforms
- Strong writing skills for drafting press materials and coverage summaries
- Ability to synthesize media coverage and identify proactive story opportunities
- Interest in climate, sustainability, or environmental policy communications preferred
