Part-Time Neurosurgery Medical Coder

Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare team, the part-time Neurosurgery Medical Coder will review clinical documentation, apply appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes for neurology surgery cases, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform quality surgical coding for neurology surgery cases and maintain accuracy standards
• Review clinical documentation to ensure proper coding and timely communication of any discrepancies
• Work collaboratively with coding and billing teams to maximize efficiency and reimbursement

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Neurology Surgery Coding for both inpatient and outpatient claims
• CPC certification from AAPC
• Experience with EMR systems
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
