Part-Time RF Engineer

Job Summary

Providing technical expertise remotely, the part-time RF Engineer will support acquisition programs at the Naval Air Station (NAS) Patuxent River by navigating spectrum certification processes and developing necessary documentation for spectrum dependent systems.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise regarding EMC and the electromagnetic spectrum for Navy/Marine Corps spectrum dependent systems
• Research and evaluate spectrum dependent system characteristics and assess conformance to applicable spectrum standards
• Perform Spectrum Supportability Risk Assessments (SSRA) and develop spectrum certification requests for submission to relevant authorities

Required qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related STEM degree
• 3+ years of experience in RF engineering related to DoD spectrum dependent systems
• Experience with EMI, EMC criteria, and operational spectrum coordination
• Active SECRET Security Clearance
• Familiarity with spectrum documentation and compliance evaluations
