Job Summary
To support student learning in sociology, the part-time Sociology Faculty will teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses remotely, engaging with students through live lectures, discussion boards, and timely feedback while collaborating with faculty to enhance the curriculum.
Key responsibilities
- Teach and facilitate undergraduate and/or graduate sociology courses, including live lectures and student engagement activities
- Provide timely feedback on student submissions and conduct outreach to assist struggling students
- Serve as a subject matter expert, maintaining curriculum rigor and participating in faculty development opportunities
Required qualifications
- Possess a terminal degree or master's degree in sociology or a closely related field from an accredited institution
- Have a minimum of 18 graduate semester credit hours in sociology if holding a terminal degree in another field
- Demonstrate experience teaching at the college/university level (preferred)
- Provide own equipment, including a computer, printer, and reliable internet access
- Be available to teach and engage with students during evenings and weekends
