Job Summary
To support student learning in sociology, the part-time Sociology Faculty will teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses remotely, engage with students through communication and live lectures, and serve as a subject matter expert while managing course content and academic integrity issues.
Key responsibilities
- Teaches undergraduate and/or graduate courses, facilitating student engagement and course completion
- Conducts weekly outreach to students and provides timely feedback on submissions through the Blackboard Learning Management System
- Hosts live lectures and participates in faculty development opportunities as assigned by the Academic Program Director
Required qualifications
- Possess a terminal degree or master's degree in the teaching discipline or a closely related field from an accredited institution
- Have a minimum of 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline for those with a terminal degree in another field
- Demonstrated experience teaching at the college/university level is preferred
- Ability to provide own equipment, including a computer and reliable internet access
- Knowledge of academic processes and university guidelines relevant to course instruction
