Java Developers (Remote/Telecommute, MD)
OMNITEC Solutions, Inc., (www.omnitecinc.com) has three (3) flavors of Java Developer opportunities, for Remote/Telecommute position based in the Rockville, MD (20855) area.
As defined in our press release (https://www.omnitecinc.com/index.php/2017/07/18/omnitec-expands-nih-support/), OMNITEC Solutions has been awarded a 5-year contract to expand its model research data sharing / computational science infrastructure (see https://data-archive.nimh.nih.gov/) in support of neurosciences research at the NIH.
This is an unprecedented opportunity to use your skills helping advance our understanding of the human brain by building data services infrastructure directly supporting neurosciences research. You will be working with a Java Web stack, Oracle RDBMS, AWS, command line tools, and much more, enabling data from billions of dollars in investment in autism, depression, suicide prevention, PTSD, substance abuse, alcoholism, etc. to be made securely available to scientists from around the world.
Few other jobs will have as impactful a mission and provide the opportunity for professional growth using the latest tools and technologies.

1. Helpful skills include: Spring, Hibernate, and Maven; Oracle or similar RDBMS; Tomcat or JBoss; Amazon Web Services/AWS.
2. Java Developer, Web/Data Services; http://omnitecinc.applytojob.com/apply/ExOIpOs0Go/Java-Developer-Web-Data-Services; This position focuses on how to best manage the massive amounts of data being managed on our cloud based solution, and requires:2+ years Java and SQL/PLSQL experience, with 1+ years direct experience designing and/or developing RESTful web services, and working in a Linux environment. Helpful skills include: Spring (especially SpringBoot and SpringCloud), Hibernate, and Maven; Oracle or similar RDBMS; Git version control; Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Docker, Zuul/Eureka, Bamboo; Scripting languages (i.e., Java Script, Python, or Bash/Shell); and Distributed computing.
3. UI/UX Java Developer: http://omnitecinc.applytojob.com/apply/hAa3rQvKfz/UIUX-Java-Developer-Telecommute-Possibility-Rockville-MD; This position has a front-end focus to help design and implement the most efficient user interfaces possible, and requires 3+ years Java/JSP/JSF experience working with modern Web technologies (HTML5, CSS, JS, Ajax), strong UI/UX design skills, and full life-cycle development in a team environment. Helpful skills include: Angular or React; Spring, Hibernate, and Maven; Oracle or similar RDBMS; Tomcat or JBoss; Amazon Web Services/AWS; and experience with test- or interface-driven design.
