Patent Counsel - US Licensed

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time Senior Counsel - Patent Medicinal/Pharmaceutical Chemistry will develop and execute global intellectual property strategies for therapeutic products, collaborating with scientists and legal teams to manage patent applications and provide legal counsel on IP matters.

Key responsibilities

• Identify patentable subject matter in collaboration with Amgen scientists
• Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications worldwide
• Provide legal advice on IP-related matters and assist with litigation-related issues

Required qualifications

• J.D. or LL.M. degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction
• Four or more years of experience in intellectual property law
• Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
• Experience in biotechnology-related patent law
• Advanced degree in organic or medicinal chemistry preferred
