Job Summary
Working remotely, the full-time Senior Counsel - Patent Medicinal/Pharmaceutical Chemistry will manage patent applications, conduct prior art searches, and provide legal advice to R&D and business teams while collaborating with scientists to identify patentable subject matter.
Key responsibilities
- Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications worldwide
- Analyze patents and prepare freedom-to-operate opinions
- Negotiate and draft research agreements while assisting with litigation-related matters
Required qualifications
- J.D. or LL.M. degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction
- Four plus (4+) years of experience practicing intellectual property law
- Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
- Experience in biotechnology-related intellectual property law
- Advanced degree in organic or medicinal chemistry preferred
