Job Summary
Owning the integrity and day-to-day operation of the patent prosecution docket, the full-time Patent Docketing Specialist will manage deadlines, correspondence, and quality control in a fully remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Manage docket ownership and deadline management by reviewing and calculating statutory and procedural deadlines for patent prosecution
- Oversee correspondence intake and triage, ensuring accurate routing and timely action on incoming communications
- Conduct independent docket verification and routine quality-control audits to reconcile discrepancies and maintain accurate records
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in patent prosecution support with significant responsibility for docket management
- Expertise in identifying and calculating patent prosecution deadlines from source correspondence
- Familiarity with U.S., PCT, and foreign patent application lifecycles and common prosecution events
- Proficient in using official patent systems such as Patent Center and researching through resources like WIPO/PATENTSCOPE
- Experience with dedicated IP docketing systems, with preference for AppColl, and familiarity with project management tools
