Pathology Medical Coding Auditor

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Medical Coding Auditor (Pathology) to join their Audit, Compliance & Education team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed coder audits and identify ongoing education needs
• Develop and update educational materials related to coding and regulatory guidelines
• Conduct internal audits of medical documentation and provide training to ensure compliance

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 3 years of auditing experience in Pathology
• Active CCS-P or CPC or RHIA/RHIT certification, along with auditing credentials (e.g., CPMA)
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, and third-party payer reimbursement
• Experience in a teaching/academic medical environment is preferred
