Patient Access Intake Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely from anywhere in the U.S., the part-time Patient Access Intake Specialist will manage the intake process for infusion therapy referrals, ensuring timely processing, verifying patient benefits, and communicating with patients and referral sources about their needs and financial responsibilities.

Key responsibilities:

• Processes orders from referral sources and assesses patient needs upon arrival
• Verifies patient benefits and eligibility for requested services, obtaining necessary prior authorizations
• Communicates with patients, families, and referral sources regarding insurance coverage and financial responsibilities

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in infusion therapy, specialty pharmacy, or related healthcare services
• Proven experience with healthcare insurance plans, including eligibility and authorization processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems quickly
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while adhering to productivity and quality standards
