Patient Access Lead

Job Summary

To ensure timely and accurate certification of outpatient procedures, the full-time Patient Access Lead will oversee work queues, provide training for new employees, and maintain professional communication with physician offices in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Certify and precertify scheduled outpatient procedures to prevent negative reimbursement and penalties
• Oversee work queues to ensure timely processing and escalate issues to management as necessary
• Assist in training new staff members to uphold service standards

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Two to four years of experience in a physician's office, hospital registration, or medical billing
• Experience with authorization and Epic software
• Certification or training in medical billing is preferred
