Job Summary
Responding to a high volume of appointment requests, the full-time Patient Access Specialist will manage scheduling for medical exams and procedures remotely while ensuring accurate demographic collection and insurance registration.
Key responsibilities
- Triages and answers incoming calls and requests professionally, demonstrating knowledge of practice protocols and payer contracts
- Completes scheduling from work queues, including handling referrals, reschedules, and waitlist management
- Documents and distributes messages regarding clinical inquiries and ensures proper communication with healthcare providers
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office or call center environment
- Entry-level computer skills as required by the department
- Strong customer service and phone etiquette skills
- Accurate data entry skills
