Job Summary

Supporting the Radiation Oncology department, the full-time Patient Access Specialist will manage financial clearance and access processes for patients receiving radiation services, ensuring timely communication and coordination with patients, providers, and payors in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities
  • Coordinate financial arrangements with payors to maximize reimbursement and communicate financial responsibilities to patients
  • Manage the referral process and scheduling for Radiation Oncology, ensuring accurate patient demographic information is collected and maintained
  • Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary pre-authorizations, documenting all interactions and maintaining compliance with institutional guidelines
Required qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; Associate's Degree in Business, healthcare, or related field preferred
  • Three years of experience in healthcare, insurance, or a related field, or one year with a preferred degree
  • Experience with insurance verification, authorizations, and pre-authorization processes
  • Preferred certifications include CHAA or CHAM from the National Association of Healthcare Access Management
  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients and payors while managing detailed financial information accurately
