Job Summary
To enhance patient experience at OHSU Ambulatory Clinics, the full-time Patient Access Resource Specialist will coordinate new patient scheduling, manage incoming calls, and ensure accurate patient information while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate new patient scheduling from initial contact through appointment creation, including collecting necessary medical records and insurance information
- Manage incoming phone calls and triage patient needs, ensuring timely and accurate appointment scheduling
- Contribute to patient satisfaction initiatives by resolving inquiries and maintaining a positive patient experience
Required qualifications
- One year of experience in a medical office setting with direct patient contact, or one and a half years in a high-volume public contact role plus six months in a medical office
- Thorough knowledge of Patient Access Services (PAS) policies and procedures
- Demonstrated advanced user skills in PAS and extensive knowledge of integrated care at OHSU
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in online scheduling and database applications
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
