Job Summary
To support practice operations, the full-time Patient Access Specialist will manage a high volume of appointment requests remotely, including scheduling medical exams and procedures while ensuring accurate demographic collection and insurance registration.
Key responsibilities
- Answers and triages incoming calls and requests promptly and professionally, demonstrating knowledge of practice protocols and payer contracts
- Completes scheduling from work queues, including managing referrals, reschedules, and waitlist appointments
- Documents and distributes messages regarding clinical inquiries to ensure timely responses from healthcare providers
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of medical office or call center experience
- Entry-level computer skills as required by the department
- Strong customer service and phone etiquette skills
- Accurate data entry skills
