Patient Access Specialist

Job Summary

To facilitate patient access services, the part-time Patient Access Specialist - Telecom will manage incoming calls, assist clinic customers at the first point of contact, and streamline clinic-wide communications in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Answer incoming telephone calls, identify caller needs, and route calls accurately to the appropriate department
• Perform TeleNurse Intake duties, including verifying patient information and updating records in the EHR system
• Maintain communication during emergencies and provide 24-hour answering service for clinic providers and departments

Required qualifications

• High School graduate or GED required
• Minimum of one year of medical office and/or phone experience preferred
• Proficient typing skills and knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• Ability to work under pressure with accuracy
• Must reside within a 40-mile radius of Springfield, IL
