Job Summary

Assisting with collections and account follow-up, the part-time Patient Account Consultant will manage billing allowance posting and ensure timely resolution of outstanding claims while working remotely.

Key responsibilities
  • Follow up with payers to resolve outstanding claims through various communication methods
  • Monitor billing accuracy and update patient and financial information as needed
  • Analyze and address issues causing payment delays, initiating appeals when necessary
Required qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2-3 years of experience in insurance collections and hospital/facility billing
  • Basic knowledge of healthcare claims processing including ICD-9/10, CPT, and HCPC codes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with workflow systems like STAR and EPIC
  • Understanding of government, Medicare, and Medicaid claims
