Patient Account Representative

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Patient Account Representative responsible for collections, account follow-up, and billing allowance posting.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow up with payers to resolve outstanding claims in a timely manner
• Monitor and update patient and financial information for accuracy
• Analyze and resolve issues causing payer payment delays and initiate appeals as necessary

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 2-3 years' experience in insurance collections and hospital/facility billing
• Basic knowledge of healthcare claims processing including ICD-9/10, CPT, and HCPC codes
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word
• Medical Billing and Coding certification preferred
