Patient Account Representative

Job Summary

To support an expanding billing and claims department, the part-time Patient Account Representative will manage patient billing inquiries, resolve account discrepancies, and process payments while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with patients to resolve billing and payment issues
• Research and resolve discrepancies in patient accounts
• Communicate with insurance companies to obtain prior authorizations and verify coverage

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• 1-2 years of experience in medical billing and collections
• Knowledge of medical billing and coding, insurance regulations, and healthcare reimbursement policies
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant computer programs
• Experience with multi-partnership billing, posting, and authorization and verifications preferred
