Patient Account Representative

Job Summary

To support the billing process, the full-time Patient Account Representative will manage collections, follow up on outstanding claims, and ensure accurate billing for assigned accounts in a virtual environment.

Key responsibilities

• Follow up with payers to resolve outstanding claims and ensure timely billing
• Review and update patient and financial information accurately, monitoring billings for accuracy
• Analyze and resolve issues causing payment delays, initiating appeals as necessary

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 2-3 years of experience in insurance collections and hospital billing
• Basic knowledge of healthcare claims processing, including ICD-9/10, CPT, and HCPC codes
• Experience with workflow systems such as STAR, SMS, EAGLE, and EPIC
• Medical Billing and Coding certification preferred, but not required
