Patient Account Representative

Job Summary

To support the billing department, the full-time Patient Account Representative will manage collections, follow up on accounts, and post billing allowances for assigned accounts in a virtual environment.

Key responsibilities

• Follow up with payers to ensure timely resolution of outstanding claims through various communication methods
• Review and update patient and financial information, ensuring accuracy for billing and insurance purposes
• Analyze and resolve issues causing payment delays, initiating appeals when necessary

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 2-3 years of experience in insurance collections, including submitting and following up on claims
• Basic knowledge of healthcare claims processing, including ICD-9/10, CPT, and HCPC codes
• Experience in Hospital/Facility billing required
• Understanding of government, Medicare, and Medicaid claims
