Patient Account Representative

Job Summary

Seeking a remote Patient Account Representative with Medicare/Medicaid experience who will manage collections, account follow-up, and billing allowance posting for assigned accounts while ensuring timely resolution of outstanding claims.

Key responsibilities

• Follow up with payers to resolve outstanding claims through various communication methods
• Review and update patient and financial information for accuracy and compliance with hospital regulations
• Analyze and resolve issues causing payment delays, initiating appeals when necessary

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 2-3 years of experience in insurance collections and hospital/facility billing
• Basic knowledge of healthcare claims processing, including ICD-9/10 and CPT codes
• Familiarity with insurance follow-up processes and government claims
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and various workflow systems
