Patient Account Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Patient Account Specialist will manage patient inquiries regarding payment options and insurance setups, establish payment arrangements, and ensure timely resolution of account balances.

Key responsibilities

• Screen patients and process Financial Assistance Applications, verifying eligibility and making account adjustments as needed
• Communicate with patients through various channels to address inquiries and obtain necessary documentation for financial assistance
• Collaborate with insurance companies and other entities to secure appropriate payment for accounts and resolve outstanding balances

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in collections, customer service, billing, or a related medical field
• Preferred college coursework in Accounting, Business, Medical Technology, Communications, or Social Work
• Proficiency in MS Office applications and 10-key calculators
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with limited supervision
