Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Patient Account Specialist will manage patient inquiries regarding payment options and insurance setups, establish payment arrangements, and ensure timely resolution of account balances.
Key responsibilities
- Screen patients and process Financial Assistance Applications, verifying eligibility and making account adjustments as needed
- Communicate with patients through various channels to address inquiries and obtain necessary documentation for financial assistance
- Collaborate with insurance companies and other entities to secure appropriate payment for accounts and resolve outstanding balances
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in collections, customer service, billing, or a related medical field
- Preferred college coursework in Accounting, Business, Medical Technology, Communications, or Social Work
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and 10-key calculators
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with limited supervision
