Patient Account Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Patient Account Specialist will manage patient inquiries regarding payment options, establish payment arrangements, and ensure timely resolution of account balances while adhering to collection policies.

Key responsibilities

• Screen patients and process Financial Assistance Applications, verifying eligibility according to policy
• Communicate with patients through various channels to address inquiries and obtain necessary documentation for billing and assistance programs
• Resolve outstanding patient accounts by coordinating with insurance companies and other relevant parties to secure appropriate payments

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in collections, customer service, billing, or a related medical field
• Preferred college coursework in Accounting, Business, Medical Technology, Communications, or Social Work
• Proficiency in MS Office applications and 10-key calculators
• Familiarity with government, commercial, and third-party billing is preferred
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with limited supervision
