Patient Accounting Denials Specialist

Job Summary

Responsible for root cause analysis and resolution of denials, the full-time Patient Accounting Denials Specialist will perform A/R follow-up, appeals, customer service, and daily reconciliation of activities in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Performs denial follow-up activities for assigned payors utilizing work queues
• Submits corrected claims, reconsiderations, and appeals to overturn denials
• Documents accounts in accordance with established policies and procedures

Required qualifications

• High school degree or GED required, with short-term training in insurance collections and claims processing
• Minimum two years of experience in insurance follow-up, billing, and collections
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively via telephone and in writing
• Strong work ethic with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to prioritize and manage a high-volume workload in a fast-paced environment
