Job Summary
To enhance patient accounting processes, the full-time Patient Accounting Denials Specialist will manage denial follow-up activities, submit appeals and corrected claims, and provide necessary documentation to insurance companies while working remotely from New Mexico.
Key responsibilities
- Perform denial follow-up activities for assigned payors utilizing work queues
- Submit corrected claims and appeals to overturn denials
- Document accounts in accordance with established policies and procedures
Required qualifications
- High school degree or GED required, with short-term training in insurance collections and claims processing
- Minimum of two years of experience in insurance follow-up, billing, and collections
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively via telephone and in writing
- Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to prioritize and manage a high-volume workload in a fast-paced environment
