Patient Accounting Representative

Job Summary

To ensure accurate billing and timely follow-up on claims, the full-time remote Patient Accounting Representative will manage insurance claims submissions, resolve denials, and optimize revenue collection for a healthcare facility.

Key responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely billing of insurance claims in compliance with regulations and payer guidelines
• Expedite larger dollar accounts and follow up on payments with insurance companies and patients
• Resolve payer denials and submit appeals as necessary while documenting all actions taken

Required qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year of collections or administrative experience
• High school diploma
• Demonstrated ability to perform diversified clerical functions and basic accounting procedures
• Experience motivating debtors to pay
• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT-4, and ICD-10-CM coding is preferred
