Patient Accounting Representative

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Patient Accounting Representative will manage billing and follow-up for hospital claims, ensuring accurate submission and resolution of denials while optimizing revenue collection.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform accurate and timely billing of insurance claims in compliance with regulations and payer guidelines
• Expedite larger dollar accounts to optimize revenue and ensure prompt payment
• Follow up on outstanding accounts and resolve payer denials, including submission of appeals as needed

Required qualifications:

• Minimum one (1) year of collections or administrative experience
• High school diploma
• Demonstrated ability to perform diversified clerical functions and basic accounting procedures
• Experience motivating debtors to pay
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding (CPT-4 and ICD-10-CM) is preferred
