Patient Accounting Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Patient Accounting Collections Specialist I.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable follow up for assigned work queues and outstanding claims
• Contact insurance companies, patients, and employers to resolve unpaid or delayed claims
• Document all account activity in accordance with organizational policies and compliance standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Less than 1 year of healthcare clerical or customer service experience preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite preferred
• Basic understanding of ICD 10, HCPCS, CPT, and revenue codes preferred
• Ability to maintain a HIPAA compliant, confidential home workspace with reliable high-speed internet
