Patient Accounting Specialist

Job Summary

To support efficient billing processes, the full-time Patient Accounting Specialist will manage the timely submission of insurance claims, follow up on payments, and resolve denials while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform accurate and timely billing of insurance claims in compliance with regulations and payer guidelines
• Expedite larger dollar accounts to optimize revenue and ensure prompt payment
• Follow up on outstanding accounts and resolve payer denials, including submission of appeals as necessary

Required qualifications:

• Minimum one (1) year of collections or administrative experience
• High school diploma
• Demonstrated ability to perform diversified clerical functions and basic accounting procedures
• Knowledge of medical insurance claims processing, including Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial payer requirements (preferred)
• Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT-4, and ICD-10-CM coding (preferred)
