Patient Accounting Specialist

Job Summary

To support efficient billing operations, the full-time remote Patient Accounting Specialist will manage the accurate submission of insurance claims, follow up on payments, and resolve denials to ensure maximum reimbursement in compliance with regulations.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform accurate and timely billing of insurance claims in accordance with policies and regulations
• Expedite larger dollar accounts to optimize revenue and follow up on outstanding payments with insurers
• Resolve payer denials and submit appeals as necessary while maintaining communication with team leads

Required qualifications:

• Minimum one (1) year of collections or administrative experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Demonstrated ability to perform diversified clerical functions and basic accounting procedures
• Experience in motivating debtors to pay
• Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial payer requirements preferred
