Patient Accounting Specialist

Job Summary

To optimize revenue and ensure prompt payment, the full-time remote Patient Accounting Representative will perform billing and follow-up for hospital claims, including accurate submission and resolution of denials in compliance with regulations and payer guidelines.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform accurate and timely billing of insurance claims in accordance with policies and regulations
• Expedite larger dollar accounts and follow up on payments with insurance companies and patients
• Resolve payer denials and conduct audits to ensure correct payments are received

Required qualifications:

• Minimum one (1) year of collections or administrative experience
• High school diploma
• Demonstrated ability to perform diversified clerical functions and basic accounting procedures
• Experience motivating debtors to pay
• Knowledge of medical insurance claims processing preferred
