Patient Accounting Specialist

Job Summary

To support efficient billing processes, the full-time remote Patient Accounting Specialist will manage the accurate submission of insurance claims, follow up on payments, and resolve denials to ensure maximum reimbursement in compliance with regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely billing of insurance claims in accordance with policies and regulations
• Expedite larger dollar accounts and follow up on payments with insurance companies and patients
• Resolve payer denials and submit appeals as necessary while documenting all actions taken

Required qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year of collections or administrative experience
• High school diploma
• Demonstrated ability to perform diversified clerical functions and basic accounting procedures
• Experience motivating debtors to pay
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding (CPT-4 and ICD-10-CM) is preferred
