Patient Accounting Specialist

Job Summary

To optimize revenue collection, the full-time remote Patient Accounting Representative will perform billing and follow-up for hospital claims, ensuring accurate submission and resolution of denials while adhering to regulatory guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely billing of insurance claims in compliance with regulations and payer guidelines
• Expedite larger dollar accounts and follow up on payments with insurance companies and patients
• Resolve payer denials and conduct audits to ensure expected payments are received according to contract terms

Required qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year of collections or administrative experience
• High school diploma
• Demonstrated ability to perform diversified clerical functions and basic accounting procedures
• Experience in motivating debtors to pay
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding (CPT-4 and ICD-10-CM) is preferred
