Patient Accounting Specialist

Job Summary

To support efficient billing processes, the full-time remote Patient Accounting Specialist will perform timely submission of insurance claims, follow up on payments, and resolve denials to ensure maximum reimbursement according to payer guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Perform accurate billing of insurance claims in compliance with regulations and payer requirements
• Follow up on outstanding accounts and expedite larger dollar accounts for revenue optimization
• Resolve payer denials and submit appeals as necessary while documenting all actions taken

Required qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year of collections or administrative experience
• High school diploma
• Demonstrated ability to perform diversified clerical functions and basic accounting procedures
• Experience motivating debtors to pay
• Knowledge of medical insurance claims processing preferred
