Patient Accounting Specialist

Job Summary

To optimize revenue and ensure prompt payment, the full-time Patient Accounting Specialist will manage billing and follow-up for hospital claims remotely, adhering to State and Federal regulations while resolving denials and conducting reimbursement analysis.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform accurate and timely billing of insurance claims in compliance with regulations and payer guidelines
• Expedite larger dollar accounts and follow up on payments with insurance companies and patients
• Resolve payer denials and perform audits to ensure correct payments are received

Required qualifications:

• Minimum one (1) year of collections or administrative experience
• High school diploma
• Demonstrated ability to perform diversified clerical functions and basic accounting procedures
• Knowledge of medical insurance claims processing, including Medicaid and Medicare
• Experience with medical terminology and coding (CPT-4 and ICD-10-CM) is preferred
